Biokinetics is an allied health profession that focuses on health promotion, maintenance of physical abilities, as well as final phase rehabilitation.
The primary goal is to improve functioning and health care through the use of scientifically-based physical activity programme prescription.

What is a Biokineticist?
A clinical exercise specialist who:

Has a four year post-graduate Honours degree

Prevents or intervenes with certain ailments (e.g., heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, neurological problems, etc)

Improves or enhances functional performance (recreational, sport, and/or work)
-
Improves a person’s physical well-being and quality of life through specific scientific assessment and then provides an individualised exercise program
-
Assesses and measures: body posture, body composition, blood pressure, glucose levels, lung function, heart rate, muscle strength and endurance, power, flexibility, and other health screenings
- A health professional who is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
